On average, 97% of people fail in multi-level marketing. You will find a few other bureaus rating this failure rate closer to 95%. Either way it is high. If only I knew that before I started Your Travel Biz I probably would have done some things differently going into the business. Don't get me wrong, not by any reason am I here to knock the YTB business. As a matter of fact, I think it has been one of the better things I've come across in my life. |
DO YOU WORK YTB VERY HARD
...People say that if your not doing well in business then your not working hard enough, or you don't have enough motivation, and/or ect. Would you agree? Now, I know "hard enough" is relative, but that’s just it. "Hard enough" is not the same for every two people, meaning we all work differently. People need to realize that we all don't have the same work ethic nor opportunities and personalities to work a business and end up successful the way we want to and we need to be ok with that.
As for me, It took me 3 years to realize YTB was not for me. Why so long? Well let me first say that I believed in YTB shortly after being invited to a "Travel Party," - a business presentation - and had a chance to review it. On top of that, I've witnessed the income personally and can attest to their word and commitment. Not forgetting to mention YTB has been rated the best MLM a couple years ago by MLMbuzz and other agencies. However, I found it very difficult giving my team momentum and selling the business, while I worked full time with my current career track and passion as a teacher and mentor for at risk youth. I was paying $50 bucks a month for the longest time off and on. I did not have that competitive sales persona, and I never found those power hitters who join your team and become super stars like many have already donw for others in the business. Could it of happened for me? I think so, but I made a decision that I didn't want to wait any longer.
Now, I've had directors tell me I need to keep pushing through and within no time I would be able to quit my job. Going to travel party after travel party I was always hyped up. I mean the YTB opportunity seemed incredible, especially after watching all the presentations from: www.howifiredmyboss.com, www.travelproincome.com, www.travelproinsider.com, and www.paycationexperts.com just to name a few. After every review reality struck, and even though I pushed YTB again, and again I only realized the opportunity cost continued to out weigh all the benefits my team and I was able to reap in return.
YES, 3% OF PEOPLE SUCCEED IN MLM
I believe you can ask any devoted person to his or her work in MLM who has been in it for at least a year or two and who has worked full time even; if they are satisfied with the results that their company offers. I guarantee you that no more than 10 out of every 100 people you ask will say, "yes I am satisfied." And guess what, 7 of those 10 were lying. The reason I say that is because I was one of the 7 in my group lying and telling people business couldn't be better. Thats because we wanted more people to join and couldn't show any signs that business was poor. In reality I was working my butt off'. I'd talk to different people over and over, including those on my team, but sooner or later people backed out and I slipped through the cracks every time.
ABOUT 256,000 YTB REPS SHOULD LEAVE YTB
So that leaves about 3% who actually succeed and reach that financial freedom. I said 256,000 YTB Reps should join me because they represent the 97% of people in YTB who fail. See for your self: Search "YTB 2007 Income disclosure statement or Click Here. You will see from this earnings report that 80% of reps make nothing, zero, nada and the next 14% come from reps in their first team. And if you don't make it to your power team you will never make it to the top position in the company. It's here when you fight to keep your team alive. Moreover, this 14% who have earned something fluctuate between making nothing and making something.
The reality with MLMs is many people do drop out shortly after the honey-moon stage of learning how much money they can make. Why? Probably for many different reasons. But with that being said, take at least half of that 14% - the reps in their first team - say who fluctuate back to making nothing, which would be 7% and add it to the original 80% that never make a profit. You will see that it is close to 87% of people in YTB who fail (make no income). Just 10% off from hitting that 97% of those in MLM's that fail. If you do the math from YTB's latest disclosure statement you will see the same thing. I'm still a rep just not active and paying that monthly fee.
HOW I FOUND MY POWER MALL
After three years of working YTB I knew that I wanted a business on the side to create that extra income, but I knew whatever I chose had to be different! There were certain "Givens" that had to be met:
